Genius You Limited (“Genius You,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have, in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
By using our website (geniusyou.co.nz) or our services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
We collect personal information in the following ways:
Contact form. When you fill out our contact form, we collect your first name, last name, email address, subject, and message.
Newsletter signup. When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address via Mailchimp, our email marketing platform.
Brilliance Gap tool. If you complete our Brilliance Gap assessment, we collect your first name, email address, the names of people you nominate in your responses, and your answers to a series of reflective questions about different areas of your life. This may include personal reflections on relationships, wellbeing, career, and family, which we treat with particular care given their sensitive nature.
Automatically collected information. Like most websites, we use analytics tools (Google Tag Manager) to understand how visitors use our site, including pages visited, time spent on the site, and general location and device information. This data is anonymised/aggregated where possible.
Testimonials. If you share feedback or a testimonial with us, we may publish it (including on our website or social media), along with your name, but only after obtaining your consent to do so beforehand.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your enquiries and provide the services you’ve requested
- Send you our newsletter, if you’ve subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- Provide you with the results of your Brilliance Gap assessment and follow up with relevant next steps
- Improve our website and services
- Comply with our legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Direct Marketing
We may send you direct marketing, such as our newsletter, updates about our services, or other information we think may be of interest to you, using the contact details you’ve provided (such as email).
You can opt out of these communications at any time by using the “unsubscribe” link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly using the details at the bottom of this page. If the law requires us to contact you about our services regardless (for example, a safety-related notice), we’ll still do so even if you’ve opted out of general marketing.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, which may process your information on our behalf:
- Mailchimp — for managing our email newsletter list
- Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics — for website analytics
- Our website hosting and form-processing infrastructure — for handling contact and assessment form submissions
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data, which we encourage you to review.
Overseas Disclosure
Some of the third-party services we use (including Mailchimp, Google Tag Manager/Google Analytics, and our website hosting infrastructure) are based overseas, which means your personal information may be stored or processed outside New Zealand. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any overseas recipient of your information is subject to safeguards comparable to those required under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. If you’d like your information deleted, contact us using the details below.
